Traveling with children
Flying with children
Whether it’s a family vacation, a short trip, or a visit to the grandparents, with Berways, our youngest passengers travel safely and comfortably. To ensure everything goes smoothly, here you will find the most important information about transporting babies, children, and teenagers.
Infants (under 2 years old)
Infants, as referred to by airlines, always travel with an accompanying adult.
Please note:
One infant per adult is allowed to travel.
If the accompanying adult is not the legal guardian, we require written consent from the parents or legal guardians.
A fee for infants is charged according to the current price list.
Infants - On Board
Our little passengers (Infants) typically travel on the lap of the accompanying adult, secured with a special loop belt that is available on board.
Alternatively, you may bring your own child restraint system (CRS) and book a separate seat for your child (at the child fare).
What to keep in mind when bringing your own child seat:
Maximum width: 43 cm
Approval for two-point seat belts (lap belt)
The accompanying adult must sit directly next to the child seat and is responsible for securely fastening it. For safety reasons, our cabin crew may refuse the use of a CRS if it cannot be properly secured.
Tip: Child seats with the TÜV “For use in aircraft” seal have proven to be particularly reliable.
Children from 2 years and teenagers (up to 15 years)
From the age of 2, children are required to have their own seat.
Travel Conditions:
Children and teenagers up to 15 years old must travel with an accompanying person who is at least 16 years old.
If the accompanying person is not the legal guardian, written consent from the parents or legal guardians is required.
Important to know:
Unaccompanied minors (under 16 years old) cannot be transported with Berways.
Travel documents & entry
Our little guests also require a valid identification document, such as a children’s passport.
Depending on the destination, additional documents may be required, such as:
A consent form from the legal guardians
An official travel authorization, especially for travel without a parent
Our tip:
Make sure to check the entry requirements in advance. If the necessary documents are missing, boarding may be refused.
